An alleged drunk drunk driver was clocked at 136 mph on Interstate 93 in Concord Tuesday night.

At around 10 p.m., a New Hampshire State Police trooper watched a sedan driven by J. Gay, 19, of Concord being driven at a very high rate of speed, and caught the car's speed on his vehicle's radar. Gay was stopped a short time later and was observed by the trooper to be impaired.

Following a roadside test, Gay was charged with reckless operation and aggravated driving while under the influence. He was released on bail and personal recognizance from State Police Troop D Barracks.

It's not the fastest vehicle whose speed was recorded by a New Hampshire trooper. A Yamaha motorcycle was clocked at 140 mph on I-93 in Bow during a traffic enforcement initiative in June. In July 2022, a Connecticut man hit 161 mph on I-93 in Ashland driving a Corvette.
