To quote the great Cousin Eddie: “You serious Clark?” Yes indeed, and if you snatch up tickets from one New England theater, you could get your loved one a Christmas gift more surprising than if they woke up tomorrow with their head sewn to the carpet.

Comedy legend and star of arguably (or perhaps indisputably) the funniest holiday film in cinematic history, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Chevy Chase is coming to Massachusetts this November to screen the movie and take part in a live conversation.

Chase, who spent summers in nearby Ipswich as a child, will be appearing at the historic Chevalier Theatre in Medford on November 30. In a release, the Theatre says:

“Join us for an unforgettable evening of holiday cheer and laughs as we celebrate the timeless classic, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, with a special screening of the film followed by a live conversation and Q&A with Chevy Chase, and his wife Jayni.

Chevy and Jayni will share their behind-the-scenes stories and personal anecdotes about the making of this beloved movie that has become a Christmas tradition. But the laughter doesn’t stop there! We’ll also be taking questions from the audience, giving you the chance to have your questions answered and hear firsthand from Chevy about his storied career including SNL, Caddyshack and so much more.”

Tickets can be found on the Chevalier’s website.

Christmas Vacation was released in 1989, the third chronicling the misadventures of Chicago’s Griswold family and their overreaching dad (a.k.a., everyone’s dad), Clark W. Griswold Jr. Bring the kids if you'd like...but don't forget the earmuffs...
