A car was destroyed and a garage door damaged in a fire Wednesday morning, the second fire in Hampton in three days.
Fire was reported in a car parked in front of the garage at the house on Mill Road around 8 a.m. with firefighters on site within two minutes, according to Hampton Fire & Rescue. It took about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames, which caused heavy damage to the garage door and the exterior of the apartment above.
The residents of the apartment were not home at the time, and a pet cat escaped injury by finding a hiding spot. It was later reunited with its owner.
Two Cats Die in Monday Fire
A woman was hospitalized by a fire at a home on Hemlock Haven late Monday afternoon.
Two cats also died in the fire, according to a report by WMUR.
A GoFundMe created by Robert Moore, the homeowner's brother-in-law, said the home was a total loss including clothes, memorabilia, and other personal items.
"We’re trying to raise funds to help Sharon replace the items lost and hopefully find a way to recover any cost for housing and food she will be facing in the coming months," Moore wrote on the GoFundMe page.
