A Newmarket house has been determined to be a total loss by fire officials after a fire spread from the garage late Friday night.

Newmarket Fire & Rescue said they were called to a fire at 1 Lafayette Street and found the detached garage fully engulfed, along with most of the house.

The fire went to two alarms, with fire companies from Barrington, Dover, Durham, Epping, Exeter, Greenland, Hampton, Lee, Newfields, Newington, and Rye all responding.

No injuries resulting from the fire were reported. A cause of the fire is under investigation.
