Just One New Hampshire Seacoast Region ‘Baby New Year’ to Welcome 2024

The first baby born in the Seacoast region in the new year was a baby girl at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.

Blayke Shorey is the second daughter for birth mom Justina and Rebecca Shorey. She was born at 5:44 a.m. on New Year's Day, weighing in at 7 lbs, 3 oz.

It was a quiet year for New Year's babies with Exeter Hospital, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, and Anna Jacques Hospitals not reporting newborns for the first day of the year.

In 2023, there were three babies born on New Year's Day.
