UPDATE: Maine State Police said Nicole Deschenes was safely located but disclosed no additional details.

A Silver Alert was issued by Maine State Police for a Canadian woman with cognitive issues who left a Wells hotel Sunday afternoon and did not return.

Nicole Deschenes, 78, of Quebec left the Watercrest Motel on Post Road (Route 1) in Wells between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. while her husband napped, according to Wells Police. She is not familiar with the area and speaks only a little English.

Deschenes was last wearing a beige striped short sleeve shirt, blue and light brown striped shoes, and black Bermuda pants. She is describe as 5 feet 4 inches and 140 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes

Wells Police asked anyone who has seen Deschenes to call them at 207-646-9354.
