Need a Thanksgiving turkey? Wentworth-Douglass Hospital may have one for you Saturday morning.

The hospital has received a large number of turkey donations in recent days they still have plenty to spare even after donations to the Community Action Partnership of Strafford County food pantry and the Rollinsford Police Department.

Saturday from 9 a.m. - noon the hospital is offering approximately 600 turkeys to any Seacoast resident who needs one at the Wentworth-Douglass Business System Office located at 121 Broadway in Dover (NOT the hospital itself).

The turkeys will be handed out drive-thru style while the supply of turkeys lasts. There is no need to leave the car.

Supply chain issues have increased the price of a turkey on average by about 24% this year over 2020, according to the American Farm Bureau's annual Thanksgiving Dinner Survey.

The average cost of this year’s "classic" Thanksgiving feast for 10 is $53.31 or less than $6.00 per person. This is a $6.41 or 14% increase from last year’s average of $46.90.
