Police Target Speeders, Irresponsible Drivers Friday on Route 125

State police officials say to be on your best driving behavior Friday on Route 125 or there's a good chance you'll be ticketed.

With nearly 450 crashes and 118 individuals injured since 2016, state police troopers and local departments will be part of a "directed patrol" on the road from Plaistow to Milton during the day and night. Officers will be "vigorously" looking for speeding, impaired and distracted drivers.

“Data shows that the Route 125 corridor has experienced numerous significant crashes in the past five years, many of which have resulted in serious injuries or death. The Office of Highway Safety is pleased to be able to fund these patrols," State Police Captain Christopher Vetter, Commander of the Office of Highway Safety said.

Brentwood Police Chief Dan Wicks has seen first-hand what happens as a result of bad driving.

"As a result of this irresponsible behavior, many are injured, families are torn apart, and frequently there is damage to vehicles and property," Wicks said.

The additional patrols, which will be funded through grants from the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety
