Sanford, Maine, Woman Stopped With $45K Worth of Illegal Drugs

A Sanford woman was taken into custody after a "significant" amount of methamphetamine was found during a traffic stop.

Maine State Police spokeswoman Shannon Moss said Renee Rocheville, 32, was stopped in Sanford during a surveillance operation connected to suspected drug trafficking locations throughout York County. Her vehicle had plates that were illegally attached and registered to a different vehicle.

Rocheville was also out on bail for drug trafficking charges stemming from an arrest in March by Sanford Police, according to Moss.

During the stop, 360 grams of methamphetamine, 21 Suboxone Strips, assorted prescription pills, and $14,200 in suspected drug proceeds were seized. The street value of the drugs is approximately $45,000, Moss said.

Rocheville was charged with aggravated trafficking and held at the York County Jail on $2,500 bail.
