The Barrington Blaze 12u softball team is representing New England at the Babe Ruth World Series in Florida.

After raising $40,250 through a verified GoFundMe.com account for airfare, hotel rooms, team meals, spectator gate fees and USA/Salute to Service Jerseys, the team traveled to the tournament on Sunday.

By 7:17 p.m., they were "checked in and ready to rock!"

On Monday, the team had their first practice of the tournament and then participated in the Babe Ruth Experience.

The first game for the Barrington Blaze is scheduled for Wednesday at noon. They will be playing teams from Kentucky, Florida and even Hawaii, according to their Facebook post.

The Babe Ruth 12U Softball World Series runs from July 18 to 27 and is held along the Treasure Coast in Florida.
