A man was arrested in Durham, NH, Tuesday night and charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Biddeford, Maine.

Biddeford police responded to an apartment house on Union Street around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and found the body of Douglas Michaud,31,of Biddeford on the front porch, according to Maine State Police officials.

The suspect in the case, Randal J. Hennessey, 30, of Biddeford, had fled the scene.

Residents told Newscenter Maine they heard multiple gunshots fired Tuesday afternoon. The investigation into the shooting continued into the evening around the apartment building.

Hennessey was arrested on a fugitive from justice charge around 8 p.m. without incident in Durham by deputies from the US Marshal’s Maine Violent Offender Task Force. He is being held at the Strafford County House of Corrections in Dover pending extradition to Maine.
