The headliner has been lined up for the Thunder in the Air Show at the Pease Air National Guard Base in September.

Maj. Michelle Mastrobattista of the 157th Air Refueling Wing told Seacoast Current the lineup for the show schedule for September 9 and 10, 2023, came together this week, with a mix of new and familiar performers.

"We're very excited to say that we have scheduled the F-16 Viper Demo Team out of Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. It's a single ship demo team, and it's going to be excellent. That's just the show runner. We have a lot of really great acts scheduled for the event," Mastrobattista said.

The demo team is made up of eight members led by Capt. Aimee “Rebel” Fiedler, showing what the Air Force's premier multi-role fighters can do.

Mastrobattista said they applied for all the teams, including the Thundersbirds and Blue Angels. They rotate through the all the shows around the country. The closest the Thunderbirds will come to New Hampshire is the Atlantic City, NJ, Air Show in August.

"We're going to have the pair of commandos back. We're going to have the P-51. We're going to Rob Holland. He's our hometown hero out of Nashua. And he's a highly acclaimed pilot," Mastrobattista said. "Something that's new, we're going to...actually, we're scheduled to have our own U8 60 Blackhawk do a search and rescue demonstration, and that's from our Army National Guard counterparts," Mastrobattista said.

She said the show will also grow its STEM footprint in 2023, with more announcements coming in the new year.

"We want to make improvements from last year's air show. So it's going to be a little different, which is good. Some stuff will be similar, some stuff will be different, and we'll just kind of keep growing on that momentum," Mastrobattista said.
