Einstein is 12!  Happy birthday to our adorable, little guy who truly is little in the horse world.

According to WMUR, Einstein set the record for the world's smallest horse when he was born in New Hampshire in 2010. You've heard of miniature horses, I'm sure, but we don't see them very often. If you didn't know, we actually have one right here in New Hampshire.

WMUR says that Einstein just celebrated his 12th Birthday on April 22.  When he was born in Barnstead, he only weighed 6 pounds.  Can you imagine a horse only weighing 6 pounds a birth?  That's more than you'd expect for even a miniature horse.

And how adorable is this: Einstein was only 14 inches tall when he was born, making him the world's smallest newborn horse ever, three pounds lighter than the original record holder according to WMUR.

According to Charlie Cantrell, Einstein's co-owner, breeders told him Einstein's size and dimensions are what set him apart to this day in the miniature horse world.

The head, to the legs, the length, width, height, everything's just beautiful about this little horse.  He’s a little wider than he was (before), and he’s happy and smart and does all the things small horses do.

Now Einstein just moved back to New Hampshire in 2020 after spending six years in Bellingham, Washington, about an-hour-and-a-half north of Seattle according to WMUR. So how exciting is it that he's returned to his home state of New Hampshire?
