A dump truck went off Route 4 in Northwood and hit several trees before coming to a stop after the driver overcorrected Friday morning.

Jickler Gomez, 48, of Lakeland, Florida, was heading east on First Hampshire Turnpike (Route 4) around 7 a.m. when he drifted into the right shoulder near the Barn Dog Inn, according to New Hampshire State Police. Gomez overcorrected his drift, then went across the westbound lanes and into the woods.

The roadway was reduced to one lane while the truck, which police said sustained serious damage, was removed from the woods.

Gomez was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

State Police asked any witnesses to the crash to call Northwood Police at 603-942-8284.
