A Salem man led police on a multi-town, high-speed pursuit early Wednesday morning before being subdued by a K-9.

New Hampshire State Police said Jeff R. Allen, 58, fled Dover police headquarters just after midnight in a 2012 Nissan Versa, and was spotted an hour later at a business on the Lee Traffic Circle. When Allen spotted troopers in the parking lot, he sped out of the parking lot and onto Route 4.

Allen continued westbound at a high rate of speed and did not stay in his lane as he continued for another 20 miles. Northwood Police deployed a tire deflation device and flattened some of the tires, but Allen was able to continue driving.

Police said Allen pulled into an empty parking lot at a business on the Epsom Traffic Circle and tried to run away on foot. K-9 Ida were able to quickly apprehend Allen and take him into custody.

Allen was charged with reckless conduct, two counts of disobeying an officer, resisting arrest, two counts of aggravated driving under the influence, and driving under the influence. He is being held at the Rockingham County Jail.
