Man Fatally Falls From Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Parking Garage After Attack
🚨 A fight between two groups inside a Portsmouth club continued on the street
🚨 The victim was followed into the Hanover Street parking garage
🚨 Portsmouth Police are looking for eyewitnesses or video of the incident
A man fell to his death from the Hanover Street parking garage in Portsmouth trying to get away from a fight early Saturday morning.
The encounter began upstairs at Portsmouth Gas Light Company where a group of males began to yell at the group the victim was with, according to Portsmouth Police Captain Dave Keaveny.
The groups moved into the street, where witnesses told police the group assaulted the victim at the entrance to the parking garage, located around the corner from the club on Market Street.
The victim was able to get away from the group and continued walking into the garage but was followed by at least one person, witnesses told police. He tried to get away by climbing onto a rail in the parking garage. He fell to Hanover Street below while climbing over the rail.
Call for eyewitnesses and video
Keaveny said the man was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not disclosed. No arrests have been made in the case.
