A man Hampton police took into custody after neighbors reported hearing angry threats from a house Tuesday night had to be subdued with a taser when he was uncooperative with responding officers.

Neighbors called 911 as they heard someone yelling “I’m going to kill you” and “I’m going to murder you”, followed by two loud pops coming from a house on Winnicunnet Road around 10:20 p.m. When police arrived they saw Joshua Blake, 31, of Durham leaving the house.

Police said Blake was "highly intoxicated, disheveled, and covered in sand" when they found him near the intersection of Winnicunnet Road and Viking Drive. Blake was very uncooperative with police as they tried to place him in a patrol car, tensing himself up and grabbing onto one of the officer's shirt collars.

Blake Continues to be Uncooperative

Despite officers using a Taser in order to subdue Blake, he continued to be unruly and was taken directly to the Rockingham County Jail. He will remain in preventative detention until a court date on March 8 in Hampton District Court.

No weapon was found or evidence of shots being fired at the house.

Blake was charged with fugitive from justice, simple assault, resisting arrest or detention, criminal mischief, loitering, and disorderly conduct.

Blake had an outstanding extraditable warrant out of the State of Maine for four counts of assault.
