New England has its third Mega Millions jackpot winner in the past month, one of an unprecedented four jackpot winners for the game in January.

A ticket for the jackpot with an annuity value of $31 million prize ($16.5 million cash) was sold in Massachusetts for Tuesday night's drawing. The Massachusetts State Lottery said the ticket was sold at at Gibbs located at 107 Winn Street in Woburn.

The winning numbers were white balls 7, 9, 18, 29 and 39, plus the gold Mega Ball 13.

A Bay State Mega Millions player in Belchertown won the January 24 jackpot, which had an annuity value of $30 million ($16.3 million cash).

A single ticket was sold at Hometown Gas & Grill in Lebanon, Maine, for the Mega Millions drawing of January 13, with an annuity value of $1.35 billion ($724.6 million cash). It was Maine's first Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot winner ever, and the second highest jackpot ever won in the United States.

The New England jackpot winners have not yet come forward.

Unprecedented Winning

An unprecedented fourth Mega Millions jackpot was won by a New York State player on January 17.

Mega Millions said that in the game's nearly 21-year history, there has never been four jackpot winners in one month.

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday's drawing has an estimated annuity value of $653 million ($350.5 million cash), the 8th largest jackpot offered in the game's history.
