A Sanford man who went missing after dropping his wife off at work was safely located and found trapped in his pickup after it went down an embankment.

Sanford Police said Robert C. Brown, 65, left his wife at her workplace in Rochester just before 5 a.m. Thursday.  He had not been heard from since, and was considered a missing person.

Brown was found Saturday in a wooded area near River Street and Washington Street in Dover by people walking the woods.

According to police, Brown's truck slid down an embankment, trapping him inside unable to get out, according to police. Dover Fire and Rescue, along with Dover Police and Sanford Police CID, responded to the scene to free Brown. He was taken to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Sanford Police Major Matthew Gagné told Seacoast Current Brown had a cell phone with him, but it wasn't fully charged when it went off the road. The pickup was not heavily damaged but caught at the bottom of a steep grade, according to Gagné

The incident remains under investigation.
