Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Crash in Northwood, New Hampshire

A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash on Route 4 in Northwood Saturday afternoon.
Northwood Fire Chief Mark Tetreault told Seacoast Current the crash between a motorcycle and a car happened around 3:20 p.m. in front of Parker French Antiques, and sent two people to Concord Hospital.
New Hampshire State Police said a westbound 2015 Ford Mustang crossed the center line and struck the 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Driver Howard Goodman, 67, of Concord and passenger Karen Goodman were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The motorcyclist, Phillip Allen, 77, of Northwood was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Tetreault and State Police.
The State Police Accident Reconstruction team was at crash scene for several hours.
No charges have been filed, and a cause of the crash remains under investigation. Route 4 was closed in both directions for several hours but reopened by approximately 8 p.m.
State Police asked witnesses to the crash to call 603-545-4288.
Seven motorcyclists and a passenger have been killed in crashes in New Hampshire so far this year as of early June, according to the state Office of Highway Safety. In 2022, 31 motorcyclists and 1 passenger were killed in crashes.
