A Somersworth woman was thrown from her car when she lost control of the vehicle on the Spaulding Turnpike Wednesday afternoon.

State Police said speed was a factor when the 2004 Honda CRV driven by Madison A. Smith, 18 rolled over near Exit 9 in Dover as it went off the right side of the roadway around 4:40 p.m.

Smith was treated at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and then taken to Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston via medical helicopter for treatment of serious injuries

State Police asked any witnesses to the crash to contact them at 603-223-3828.
