UNH Shutout by Oregon in NCAA Tournament Game, 1-0
#16 seed UNH men's soccer team was shutout by #1 Oregon State 1-0 in the NCAA Tournament bringing an end to their season.
Oregon State's Mouhameth St. Thiam scored the game's lone goal at 9:06. Wildcat junior goalkeeper Jassem Koleilat made a big save in the game's 30th minute to deny St. Thiam and the Beavers a second goal.
The loss caps off a season that saw the team finish with a 17-2-2 record, the most wins ever for the team and a school record.
The team will fly home on AirKraft, the New England Patriots team plane. The team was enlisted to help after UNH ran into problems arranging a charter to Oregon.
The Wildcat loss gives Airkraft a 2-1-0 record this year in its recent flight assists for New England teams.
The Boston Renegades of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) flew Airfraft to the league championship game in Canton, Ohio in July where there earned their third straight championship.
The then-undefeated University of Rhode Island men's football team took the plane instead of a bus to Baltimore for a game against Towson State. URI lost 28-7.
