The wife of Adam Montgomery, the father of missing 7-year-old Harmony Montgomery of Manchester, was the second person arrested in relation to the missing girl's case.

Manchester Police said that despite the second arrest, the search for Harmony continues and still asks the public for help.

Kayla Montgomery, 31, was charged with welfare fraud. It is alleged that she received over $1,500 in food stamp benefits between December 2019 and June 2021 after failing to remove Harmony from her family account with New Hampshire's Department of Health and Human Services, even though she was no longer living with Kayla and Adam Montgomery.

Confusion over Harmony's location

Adam Montgomery was arrested on Tuesday on assault and endangerment charges after investigators learned from relatives he allegedly punched Harmony in the eye in 2019, according to the affidavit in his arrest. He is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail.

According to the affidavit, Kayla Montgomery told investigators that the last time she saw Harmony was in November or December 2019 before going to work. She was under the impression that the child was living with her mother in Lowell, Massachusetts. Kayla noticed Harmony's black eye, but Adam explained that one of their other children hit her in the eye with a toy.

Adam and Kayla have three children together who are all accounted for.

Kayla Montgomery No Longer with Adam

Kayla told detectives she had not seen Adam since October 2021 because he moved into a sober house and then to Maine to live with another woman. Investigators made contact with Adam, who was sleeping with girlfriend Kelsey Small in a vehicle parked on Harvell Street in Manchester.

Small has dated Adam for over a year and was aware of his children with Kayla and another child with another woman. She did not know Harmony was one of his children.

Harmony Montgomery is described as approximately 4 feet and 50 pounds with blonde hair, blue eyes and glasses. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call a special number that is manned 24/7: 603-203-6060.
