Southwest Airlines Resumes Flights Including Manchester, New Hampshire – UPDATE

Southwest Airlines flights are flying again following a nationwide ground stop on all flights including its service out of Manchester, Portland, and Boston because of a technical issue.

The airline requested the ground stop from the FAA Tuesday morning.

"Southwest has resumed operations after temporarily pausing flight activity this morning to work through data connection issues. We offer our heartfelt apologies to customers whose journey with us today might be delayed," the airline wrote on its website.

According to the website FlightAware.com, there were 1,806 delayed flights nationwide as of 12:25 p.m.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we’re hoping to get everyone going ASAP,” the airline said in a statement to CNN.

The airline said that customers holding reservations to/from any Southwest destination on Tuesday may rebook in the original class of service or travel standby (within 14 days of their original date of travel between the original city-pairs and in accordance with our accommodation procedures) without paying any additional charge.
