Teatotaller serves up good vibes in the form of boba tea and drag shows in Somersworth, New Hampshire, and has been referred to by many as a queer oasis. It is so beloved that they actually opened a second location in Concord a few months back.

Emmet and the Teatotaller crew shared some pretty major news on their socials recently. They will be going through a metamorphosis (their words, not mine!). Teatotaller as we know it will be transforming into something near and dear to their hearts, which is a recovery-friendly restaurant. They have worked closely with SOS Recovery Community Center in Dover to manifest the kind restaurant we need on the Seacoast.

What is the concept?

This restaurant will focus on destigmatization. It will employ people who are currently in recovery or those who have been previously incarcerated. Their mission is to help these individuals develop marketable job skills, all while serving fresh, delicious breakfast foods in an all inclusive atmosphere. Behold: Fold'd, a crepe and omelet-focused modern diner on a mission. It will be a full-service breakfast and lunch spot.

What will happen to Teatotaller as we know it?

Teatotaller's Somersworth café will be *closing* this month to make way for this new social enterprise. Their last day open will be Sunday, January 22. They will be open regular hours until then, so come join them for their final hoorah!

The news is a bit bittersweet to the Somersworth community because Teatotaller is such a unique and special place to so many. But they want you to know that Teatotaller as a business and brand isn't going anywhere. Their Concord café is still going strong, and they have some exciting updates and drag events planned in the coming months. And of course, you can always order their teas at Chai Curious. There is no word  on a firm opening date for Fold'd, but we will keep you posted as we learn more!

Congrats to Emmet and the whole Teatotaller team on their continued success, and we are wishing you the best of luck with this new endeavor.
